The Short Cut
The blazing sun peeking through the windows and the glare blinding me. The musty steam coming off my powerless muscles with the heat drying my body to the bone. The damp condensation of my water bottle curing the fire spreading along my hand, the refreshing punch of cool water brings me back from the dead. The never ending road in front is bare, with no cars or life to be seen. Driving straight past the layers of sand and the frame of a deceased valcher telling me to turn around. It's just me and mum out here. All alone. Where was this man sending us, are we safe. My thoughts were broken by an unfamiliar sound, almost like Sirens.
We arrived to the home of the untrustful sound, gates wide open. I Spin around to find no one, absolutely no one. Where is mum? I enter the great building standing before me. The sudden temperature drop turns my steady pace into a run. The shadows mocking my every move. My throat burning from my echoless screams. I’m alone. The cars gone too. I'm stuck in area 51 thirsty with no food all by myself. Suddenly i'm not alone the warm embrace of a hand holds my shoulders I sigh with relief I dry my tears and look up at the mirror vision still blurry but clear enough to see green!
